- They seem to be rougher than 40 grit. - The felt backing on these do NOT keep the disc attached to the velcro surface of the sander. There are three problems with these discs.1. I purchased these 5 inch 40 grit eight hole sanding discs because it appears to be a good buy. The Black & Decker dics I literally had to pry off the sander, but these things would fly off across my yard all on their own. The sanding surface would rub off very quickly when compared to the Black & Decker dics.3.
- They don't last nearly as long as the Black & Decker discs.
I did a lot of sanding on my deck using Black & Decker 40 grit sanding discs and then ran out.
I went through 16 of these discs to do the amount of sanding I did previously with only 3 of the Black & Decker discs.
I used them on the Skill 2.6 amp sander.
After only a few seconds up to a few minutes, these discs would simply "fly off" the sander and you can't re-use them.
I used these Porter-Cable discs after they arrived at my house.
They definately tore up the wood more than the Black & Decker.2.
It was an effort in frustration using these things.
It's kind of cool if you're playing games to see how far you can "frisbee" them, but they're basically useless as a sanding accesory.I would recommend you avoid Porter-Cable sanding discs like this if you are looking for some.
